Rotary Die Cutting Equipment

Die-cutting is a process that converts a material by cutting and shearing it into different shapes and designs. It uses materials that are dynamic and can be customized. This process is done for a wide range of materials and is widely used by many manufacturing firms.
There are many types of die-cutting processes like flatbed die cutting, laser die cutting, and rotary die cutting. As the name speaks, the flatbed die cutting uses a flatbed die and press while the laser die cutting uses a high-speed laser cutting machine. Lastly, the rotary die cutting equipment uses a cylindrical rotary die and a rotary press. It depends on the needs and the die-cutting materials and size, that determines the die cutting machine to be used.

The rotary die cutting equipment runs smoothly at a specific capacity. The machine has a particular configuration and setting. As said earlier, this type of die cutting machine uses custom-designed cylindrical dies, which is attached to the rotary press, and then the material is converted. A flexible material, which is usually in the form of a roll or sheet, is put into the press die cutting machine. It holds the cutting die cylinder and anvil cylinder that rotates in opposite directions. This reverse rotary cutting die acts like a machine and executes the cutting procedure.

In a rotary machine, you can get the desired cuts and slits. It is essential that in the rotary die cutting machines, both the cylinders and the web run at the same speed. Only after this, the die cuts are properly in parallel to each other and ends up in a uniform material. The machines often use motors to have better accuracy and uniformity.

Rotary die cutting machine can be used for materials like metal, foam, fabric, plastic, paper, and laminates. The type of material that intends to get converted decides the configuration and settings of the rotary die cutting machine. The type of material also plays a role in the design of the rotary cutting die. The thickness of the material and the flexibility also determine the height of the cutting blade and the optimum angle it should be. If you want to cut a thick material, the blade height needs to be higher, and the angle needs to be steeper, while in the thin materials, the height needs to be low, and so is the angle. If the material is multi-layered, there may be different adjustments to the heights and angles.

The material properties determine the type of rotary die, too, such as a flexible rotary die should be used or a solid rotary die. Thinner materials may use flexible or solid die while thicker use solid rotary die only.

All you need to know about the Rotary Die cutting

Rotary die cutting is a procedure in which the paper, metal, plastic, rubber and other material are brought in a determined shape and sizes. It is basically put in use to cut some different shapes and designs which one possibly could not cut by using the straight cut or a guillotine cutter.

The rotary method is considered to be very beneficial. It basically makes use of the cutting blades of the knife-edge which are designed to cut according to the desired shape. Now, these blades are beautifully designed which makes sure it could possibly cut a variety of raw materials. The rotary die cutting process help in the production of the labels, folders, envelops cartons and document.

The dies being put in use in the cutting machine are prepared from the tungsten carbide. Though it is the quite expensive and hard substance being used in the large scale production puts a justification on the heavy price. The perforated blades and the dies are being put in use to form the perforations on the papers. It can be best used for making receipt books, tickets, and bills. The upfront cost of these equipment used in the industries cost around $50000 to $70000. But when it comes to replacing the worn out or old blades the cost is too high.

However, the only drawback of this cutter is that the change over mechanism is too time-consuming and difficult to do. It basically requires an excessive quantity of the materials to again register with the printing work in order to get the desired creasing and cutting specifications. But, this equipment basically registers in the traveling direction. Incase if the material shifts to the other direction, defects start appearing.

One can easily avail the Rotary die cutter for sale available at the various stores at a very appropriate price. Another useful machine is the ECG which is known as an electrocardiograph. It very well helps in graphing up the activity of the heart. This machine well reflects the voltage in the ECG electrode machine.
